Donald Low, M.D., FRCP'
A recognized authority in microbiology and infectious diseases, Dr. Low has published more than 170 papers in peer-reviewed journals and is a reviewer for several organizations including the Medical Research Council, Health and Welfare Canada, New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of American Medical Association, and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science. He is also an Associate Editor of the Canadian Journal of Infectious Diseases.
Dr. Low is Head of the Department of Microbiology at the Toronto Medical Laboratories and Mount Sinai Hospital, a diagnostic laboratory serving 10 hospitals in the Greater Toronto Area. He is a Professor at the University of Toronto in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology and Department of Medicine. He is currently Head of the Division of Microbiology in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology.
Peter Carlen, M.D., FRCP(C)
Dr. Carlen is Professor of Medicine (Neurology) and Physiology at the University of Toronto, and a clinical Neurologist/scientist at the Playfair Neuroscience Research Unit at the Toronto Hospital Research Institute, University of Toronto. Dr. Carlen has published over 175 peer-reviewed articles in the fields of Neurology and drug and alcohol addiction and has lectured throughout the world on these subjects.
Michael S. Berlin, M.D., M.S.
Dr. Berlin is currently a Clinical Professor at the UCLA, Jules Stein Eye Institute. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. He has researched and published numerous books and articles on glaucoma and laser surgery, and is regularly invited to lecture at professional conferences, both internationally and in the United States. Dr. Berlin is the founder and director of the Glaucoma Institute-Beverly Hills and a board-certified ophthalmologist, specializing in laser surgery and research in the treatment of glaucoma.
Joerg Kreuter Ph.D.
Dr. Kreuter is a pioneer in nanoparticle technology and has over a 30-years experience and more than 150 published papers in this area. Dr. Kreuter was among the first to use nanoparticles for vaccines, ophthalmic delivery, and AIDS. At present, one of his priorities is the application of nanoparticles in drug delivery to the brain. He has edited a book on the subject of the blood-brain barrier, is on the editorial board of several drug delivery journals and is a frequent literature reviewer in the field. Dr. Kreuter is currently a Professor at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology at Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University, Frankfurt, Germany.
